5 Best VR Headsets for iPhone in 2020

Believe it or not, VR has grown so much that there are various ways you to get into VR gaming. There are HMDs that connect to iphone. You have headsets that plug into smartphones and the PlayStation VR (PSVR), which connects to a iphone. There are even standalone headsets, which are HMDs that don’t need to connect to anything at all — just strap it on, and you’re in VR.

Below are the best VR headsets for Iphone that are actually worth escaping reality to enjoy.

Homido V2 VR

1. Merge VR Headset

If you are searching for a budget VR headset that is comfortable enough for frequent use, then look no further than the Merge VR. This headset is designed particularly with kids in mind, with its soft foam material making it particular unbreakable. There are a handful of accessories available for this product, to even further increase the gaming fun. It’s not the best headset around, but it’s a good choice for a budget headset that works with Android and iPhone and is a little more durable and comfortable than the Google Cardboard.

2. Mattel View-Master Deluxe VR Viewer

The View-Master Deluxe VR Viewer from Mattel offers you an affordable and easy way to step into the immersive VR adventures that will take you around the world and beyond. It features a headphone connector for a more immersive audio experience, wider lenses for expanded field of view and a focus wheel to bring images to focus without your glasses!

While VR content is currently an extremely mixed bag, the View-Master Virtual Reality Viewer is a decent enough option if you’re eager to dip your toe into the pool in which we will all one day be immersed. The Viewer is a bit rough around some edges, but it’s priced to appeal even to budgets more suited to its ancient 3D forebear.

3. BlitzWolf VR Headset

In short, the Blitzwolf VR headset is comfortable to use. However, I’m not really sure if you want to use any VR headset for more than 40 mins without taking a break. As for actual build quality, it is good but don’t expect anything fancy here. The shell is made of plastic but it does not seem to break anytime soon.

Virtual reality is not something that you can’t live without but it is really cool and the Blitzwolf VR headset is an affordable solution.

It has a decent design and build quality, it is comfortable to wear and it doesn’t cost a fortune.

4. Zeiss VR One Plus

My initial impression with the Zeiss VR One Plus is quite good. The product has a solid build and a futuristic design. Inside the box, we have the headset, 2 head straps, a cleaning wipe, and an AR cube. An advantage of the headset is its eye-box design; it can be worn with your eyeglasses and you don’t need to make any lens adjustment.

The Zeiss VR One would stand out as a quality universal mobile headset with excellent optics and a sturdy, comfortable design that helps justify its high price. Unfortunately, its lack of a magnetic switch is a significant design flaw. You can get an add-on switch to make the headset fully compatible with Google Cardboard apps, but for a $120 product, it should have been integrated or included. Without the switch, the VR One is very limited, with most VR apps awkward to use at best and completely unusable at worst. If you’re a Samsung user, the Gear VR is a superior choice. If you’re a user of any other smartphone, look for a headset that’s compatible with Google Cardboard.

5. Homido V2 VR

The Homido V2 has a set of bi-convex 37mm high quality lenses which feel natural and give a very clear view. Although the Field of View isn’t very wide, especially on a regular iPhone 6(S)/7 (4,7″), the immersion is good and the headset is suitable to use for longer periods of time.

The Google Cardboard V2 iOS compatible button is a good extra feature when compared to the original Homido VR headset. The button works like it should. It responds quite quick.
A know issue off many headsets V2 buttons is poor response or no response at all.

Two great features that the original headset already had and which were improved in this new headset are the focal length adjustment wheel and the IPD adjustment wheel. This headset can be used by almost everyone. The usage of prescription glasses is in most cases not possible but also not necessary thanks to these features. Another good thing about this headset is that the headset’s lenses almost don’t fog up. The nose gap is well positioned and prevents lens fog.
